Cousin
Grandpa Says...Well howdy folks! Welcome to this here new webspace. Mighty nice of ya to drop by. From time to time
this is the place for spinnin' yarns, grins, grips and all that good
gossip! Me and ol lady (my dawg) will sniff around and let you
know what we find. If'n you heard anythin good, be sure to drop
us a line.
First off today let's talk about where
to eat. It just ain't the same anymore. Have'n ya noticed,
we got four - count em - five Chinese restaurants, five Mexican restaurants, lots of burger joints, four
Italian joints, but we ain't
got one decent buffet with regular food! Ya know what I mean,
like the Longwood or Longview used to serve. No
waiting in line,
just git your plate and eat all ya want of greens,
chicken and dumplins,
viddles, corn bred and tea. Now that's lunch!

Maybe one of them empty foreign
restaurants will figure it out and start serving American food.
Cousin Grandpa
PS - CG does like them apple pies at
McDonalds, though!
God Bless America!

Confederate Conspiracy??
Did you notice that somebody knocked
down the only Confederate monument we had? Somebody in a Chevy
pickup plowed right into it and wrecked it.
Now, I think it must have been a
Yankee. Everybody knows that a true southerner drives a Ford.
(I think that about half the folks in
Franklin County now are Yanks). Did you think that the
county commissioners will pay to replace it?
Did you ever notice that the
Confederate flags faced the courthouse?
Why Cousin Grandpa?
Now some of ya'll been asking how
come my name is Cousin Grandpa. Well, could be cause I'm a
married to Cousin Grandma! But really it is cause when you climb
our ol family tree, some of them ancestors marred each other, then
their kids married each other, and anyway it means that my younguns is
also my cousins too. Cousin Grandmas granmama and grandaddy was
cousins too, so it really gets confusing sometimes. Its just
easier to be Cousin Grandpa. Don't you just love kin folks!??

Grandpa Says...
When
are they gonna build that new road
anyway. Traffic round Rocky Mount is like being in New York City.
Specially when they let out the folks from the window plant and school
all about the same time. Shoot, if you'n was on the wrong
side o town you might as well just stay put. Speaking about that,
what we really need is a rode from 220 S over to the Ferrum road so
folks can get to Roanoke quicker. That would help bunches.
Hey Mr. Mayor!
One more thin~ listen up Mr. Mayor -
that durn rode in front of the post office is too narrow.
You
can't squeeze them big trucks and cars thru there. It's time to get
rid of a lane and make it 2 lanes again!

I'll Se Y'all Round the Bench!
